Investment Realization in Indonesia Reaches Rp721.3 Trillion in 2018

Jakarta: Domestic and foreign direct investment realization in Indonesia reached Rp721.3 trillion in 2018, growing  by 4.1 percent compared to the previous year.

According to the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), domestic investment realization reached Rp392.7 trillion last year. It increased by 25.3 percent compared to the previous year.

On the other hand, foreign direct investment realization reached Rp328.6 trillion last year. It decreased by 8.8 percent compared to the previous year.

"It was slighly below last year's investment realization target," BKPM head Thomas Lembong told a press conference on Wednesday, January 30, 2019.

"We can perform better this year,"  the former trade minister said.

Based on region, investment realization in Java provinces reached Rp405.4 trillion last year. It grew by four percent compared to the previous year.

In the meantime, investment realization in the other provinces reached Rp315.9 trillion last year. It grew by 4.3 percent compared to the previous year.
