Jakarta: President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo attended the 93rd anniversary of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) at Jakarta Convention Center, Senayan, Central Jakarta on Thursday, January 31, 2019.
"NU is committed to develop the Muslim community. It is also committed to protect national unity," President Jokowi said.
NU is the larget and most influential Islamic organization in Indonesia. It is also a strong supporter of the national ideology of Pancasila."If we maintain our diversity, we can further develop our tolerance," President Jokowi said.
The event was also attended by Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Wiranto, Youth and Sports Minister Imam Nahrawi and other high ranking officials. It was also attended by 1,489 NU officials from across Indonesia.
