The 15th Annual Paradise Chocolate Fest is returning home on May 9 to Terry Ashe Park, it was announced on Friday morning. The fest invites non-profit organizations that provide educational, enrichment, recreational or leadership opportunities to youth on the Paradise Ridge.
The Camp Fire forced last year’s event to be held at Gold Country Casino.
According to a press release, in the last 10 years alone the fest has contributed over $230,000 in financial support to 52 organizations serving youth that rely on the celebration as a major source of annual fundraising.
From scholarships to upgraded computers, sports equipment, buses for field trip outings, summer reading programs, musical instruments, leadership, vision screening, food banks and more, revenues ultimately reach out to impact the lives of thousands of youth on the Ridge, their families, and our community.
All prospective beneficiary youth organizations must attend an orientation to be held Thursday, Jan. 23, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Round Table Pizza, 2201 Pillsbury Road Chico in order to qualify from proceeds raised at the 2020 Paradise Chocolate Fest. Applications to benefit are due Feb. 10.
There is a chocolate pie eating contest, regional authors attend and there are fine art and craft booths, delicious food, giant inflatables, costumed characters and so much more. Special highlights also include a Chocolate Pancake Breakfast and the Guittard Chocolate, Wine & Beer Tasting Garden
